The Yuletide Candle
🕯🎄Yuletide means “Christmas Spirit” so I wanted to create a Yuletide candle that represented just that! When I think of Christmas I think of my family and my families traditions. One of our biggest Christmas traditions revolves around delicious food and we are known for going a little overboard. I come from a family of fisherman, craftsman, cooks and cake makers so there’s always plenty of delicious food around, especially during the holidays. I always say, what separates a house from a home is what’s inside the oven! Mulled cider on the stove, gingerbread and sweet meat pies in the oven. Pomanders and snowy mittens on the wood stove and plates of cookies, bars, cheese and crackers on every table~that’s Christmas in my home. Strung cranberries and popcorn on all the trees outside, fresh garland and wreaths inside~that’s Christmas in New England. Fish chowder, steamed lobster and boiled dinner with bowls of chestnuts~that’s Christmas in Maine!✨I hope this Yuletide candle helps bring back happy Christmas memories along with making new ones! Brightest blessings to you and yours during this very special magical season!🎄🕯
The Old Magic of Christmas Book
🕯🎄If you’ve been following me for a hot minute you probably know that I not only believe in faeries, but I also work with them and I am absolutely obsessed with folk lore, storytelling and faerie tales. I don’t buy things for myself very often but when I do, it’s usually an old vintage ornament, a haunted doll or a book on folklore and I think it’s about time I start sharing some of them with you to help keep the important tradition of storytelling alive. I used to pop on here and read you stories once in a while, if that’s something you would like me to do again I would happily do so! I’ve always wanted to have a nice storytelling voice like my friend @folktalejess but I sound like Fran Drescher with a cold instead!👻Anyways, about the book! This beautiful book is called The Old Magic of Christmas and it’s written by Linda Raedisch who also wrote the book “Night of the Witches” which is one of my favorite books of all time. It talks about the folklore, traditions and magical recipes for celebrating Walpurgis Night! But The Old Magic of Christmas is an excellent book as well! Words from the back cover, “Not so very long ago, Yuletide was as much a chilling season of ghosts and witches as it was a festival of goodwill. In The Old Magic of Christmas, you’ll rub elbows with veiled spirits, learn the true perils of elves, and discover a bestiary of enchanted creatures. Rife with the more frightful characters from folklore and the seasons most petulant ghosts, this book takes you in a spooky sleigh ride from the silvered firs of a winter forest to the mirrored halls of the Snow Queen. Along the way, you’ll discover how to bring the festivities into your home with cookie recipes and craft instructions, as well as tips into delving more deeply into your relationship with the unseen.”🕯There is a recipe for the Bishops Wine which is delicious and you will read about the Pelznichols which were some of the first dark Christmas spirits to make it to North America. Nisse, Tomtem, Tonttu and the Kirkonwaki visit these pages along with many witches, werewolves, spectral dogs and oh so many haunted hosts. If you decide to read it let me know what you think!🎄🕯
Snow Queen Candles!
(these will be sold out soon!)🕯❄️Greetings Fireflies! I would like to introduce you to my newest candle, The Snow Queen. Not only does she smell absolutely divine and sparkle just like freshly fallen snow under a full moon, she also has a gift that keeps on giving.🌟While thinking about what kind of candle I wanted to make for the holidays I knew I wanted to make candles that will not harm our planet whatsoever and I also wanted to create a candle that would keep on giving even after it was burned. That’s when I came up with the idea to use ornaments out of pendants so you can wear them as a necklace or hang them in your windows or on your tree after burning your beautiful candle! Each candle comes with an adjustable black cotton necklace that the stars, the crescent moon and even some of the crystals can easily be added to! A necklace that the Snow Queen would melt over! Made with all natural soy wax and biodegradable glitter.🌿Infused with all natural oils of Balsam Fir~a very potent magical ally that helps seal spells and keep illness at bay. Cranberry~a powerful plant ally to use for protection and positive energy. The Cranberry is also associated with the Crane which is Japans most holy mythical creatures that symbolize eternal youth. Bayberry~used as a house blessing and money magic for hundreds of years. Burning Bayberry around Yuletide is considered great luck!🌿Each handmade candle is poured in a reusable 8oz tin. You receive one candle, one adjustable necklace and 5 pendants for $18.88 Message to purchase!❄️🕯
